Evidence of Autumn: A chromatic season

While remaining firmly anchored within the general menswear trend of recent seasons of sensible, utilitarian and neo-realist clothing, F/W 2011 also has a fun and sometimes irreverent side, expressed through splashes of bright colours and classic tailoring with twenty-first century twists.

Classic autumnal colours have resurfaced this season. From purple to burgundy through to the very chic camels and olive shades, the colours of the changing season have made their way into our wardrobes. Wear them tone on tone or mix them together for a more fashion forward feel.

For a still classic yet more casual fall look the traditional autumnal nuances become brighter and include vibrant greens and indigo blue. The casual silhouette takes a top-heavy form.

For a boost of colour choose reds, orange, lime green or even a total look in fuchsia. Add some individuality and pluck to your autumnal style.

Tailoring is at the centre of this autumn’s trends and 2011’s innovations. Wear it in all tones and shades of grey, even better if mixed and matched in order to highlight the sartorial excellence and dimensional details.

Grey is THE colour for F/W 2011. In contrast to the sleek monotone hues of the optimum formal style, for causal chic match greys with injections of bright colours, for a trendy yet not too daring off duty look.

Whether you opt for a traditional palette this autumn or you want to maintain a summery feel to your wardrobe, a splash of colour is a definite must have. Embrace the change of season and celebrate the autumnal hues.
