Dolce&Gabbana’s SS11 menswear collection is an hymn to the word atmosphere: “an aesthetic quality or effect, especially a distinctive and pleasing one, associated with a particular place”. Sitting on the backdrop of black and white feelings, the distinctive pieces of the collection narrate a place, Sicily. Not just – Sicily. Sicily in the summertime with its shadows and moments of heated light that occur during the day. A day made to be interpreted by sartorial effects that borrow to the surroundings shapes, fabrics, colours and accessories. Elegantly original. Original here within used as authentically coming from its place origin.

Summer fabrics, linen, cotton, extremely light silk mastered by sartorial expertise. A man’s poise.

The key accessory: the cord belt, a reminder of the sea, fishermen, and the beauty found in the simple and natural things.

The shadow of black carried through important and weaved bags.

White and black in pure form, a decision to stand wearing one or the other.
