Your Past Goes Digital

What makes you interesting is your story; so get yourself a barcode and tuck all the details in.

Stickybits is an application founded by Billy Chasen and Seth Goldstein, the creative minds behind the Chartbeat and Social Media. It lets you scan any kind of barcode and attach different types of context to that physical object. What you add can be a picture, a pdf file, a video, a game or just a basic text.

You can use it in endless ways like attaching your cv to your business card, a comment to a certain item in a supermarket, audio tour file to a museum ticket, a video to a music cd… Brainstorm a bit and you’ll come up with more creative ones…

What worries me a bit is the way this application can be used in relationships: think of all your exes leaving comments –nasty ones- on your clothes, objects, furniture and so on… Ok, maybe I can leave without this technological craze. Thank you very much.
