If you have seen any of the Spring 2011 fashions, you know that you need to say goodbye to your light pastels from years past and say hello to bright, hot, fearless colors.
Morocan Pouffes from Table Tonic
This spring, people will be sporting vibrant colors of orange, hot pink, aqua, kelly green, coral and many other wonderful colors. Just as interiors have so often followed fashion trends in the previous seasons, this spring is no different.

Give your home a bit of that cheerful spring look with a few colorful
decorative accents. Since the colors this season are so dynamic, you will have
to be careful how you incorporate these colors with your existing furnishings
and décor. The best solution is to start with a fairly simple, clutter-free,
neutral environment and then pick one to three colors (ie: orange, hot pink and
yellow) that you want to bring in. A white sofa or chair paired with bright
pillows and colorful tabletop accessories will instantly transform an otherwise
dull space into a happy and interesting room. Another way to incorporate bright
colors is to combine them with white porcelain or metallic silver or gold. The
white porcelain next to the bold colors will create a very crisp and contrasting
look. Metallic accessories pair wonderfully with bright colors; the shininess
of the metallic is sure to exude the heat of the sun and catch the eye of your
house
guests.
Accessories from Kate Spade
Adding a pop of color in your home can be quickly done in any room. For your living room, purchase a few accessories such as colorful candlesticks or canisters and let them sing from the book shelves. A bright ottoman or stool that can be easily moved in and out with the change of the season is a great cost effective way to change up your décor. For your bedroom, purchase some new colorful and graphic linens that will keep you happy into the summer. Bringing the trends of the runway into your home does not have to mean remodeling and repainting (although, there is nothing wrong with that).

The reality is that fashion changes and so does interior style, so do not feel like you have to invest in a full facelift – think of it as buying some new mascara and lipstick – just a little something to make you look and feel better.
