Going beyond the usual purpose of a watch – i.e. for indicating when you’re running late, Greek designer Alexandros Stasinopoulos has turned a watch’s usual design literally inside out with this latest concept watch Ora.

According to designer Alexandros the purpose of mechanical watches is not only to display the time, but to also showcase human achievement in the fields of engineering, aesthetics and of course craftsmanship. His Ora (in Greek Ora means hour) watch is indeed this, a study in 'haute horlogerie', the watch focuses on the display of time via an unconventional mode.

By replacing the usual dial arrangement found on the face of the vast majority of mechanical watches with a set of three interwoven tapes – one to indicate the hour, minutes, and the day – the watch demonstrates in a bold and dramatic way the passage of time.
