The paler shade of the Rubik's Cube

Not that we've ever sat around drunk playing with a Rubik's cube, but we can't held feeling this new all white design from cult Japanese store Tokyu Hands would drive anyone to hallucinating distraction.

The Eighties are of course back in film, and fashion and so therefore it only follows that design would hop onto the retro bandwagon too. Back in the day when we were singing in the shower to George Michael, adding hair gel to our perms and drinking Malibu (non-ironically) - the Rubik's cube was on the bookcases of every cool kid.

Cult Japanese design store, Tokyu Hands is bringing it back - only in a minimal all-white version called, The Void Cube hwww.hands-net.jp/goods

Also available are updated versions of the classic cube - designed to add even more difficulty to the frustrating puzzle. The question of course remains, why? Have we, or has design got cleverer? I'd hazard a guess at the latter.
