Lobster safaris are optional at Sweden’s first floating hotel, that offers a unique experience for the jaded traveller.
Owners of the already respected Swedish restaurant Salt & Sill (Salt & Herring) have expanded their gastronomic empire with something different and that doesn't involve locking up big fish in aquariums...
The restaurant Salt & Sill is located far out on the Swedish West Coast north of Gothenburg on the island of Klädesholmen (herrings, herrings, herrings). The new hotel consists of six two storey houses, with 23 rooms overlooking the harbour - all designed with chic Swedish simplicity. Should Christmas and the close proximity of relations frighten the life out of you - it could be answer to your prayers (providing you like fish).
Should you wish - lobster safaris can arranged where you can catch and cook your own lobster. Catching a peek of the 'big 5' seems so last season.
For a first hand account of a stay at the hotel check out Patrick Barkham's article at the guardian.co.uk.
