Distrikt hotel: NYC's Time Square gets a chic destination

Distrikt is set to open October 28th on West 40th St (8th & 9th Ave) providing a new (the only?) hotel close to NYC's Times Square.

According to the hotel's new site - "New York City itself" inspires the décor with floors representing 10 different neighborhoods or districts beginning with a Central Park living wall in the lobby and renderings of Manhattan's grid around the elevators. Floors will be arranged in order according to their locations so the Financial District will be the lowest floor and Harlem will be the highest.

Rooms come complete with 37" flatscreen LG Tvs, Frette robes and linens, Ecru bath amenities and daily delivery of the NY Times, plus airport grade 6/8-inch soundproofed windows so "the sounds of Broadway stay where they belong." Distrikt will have a restaurant incorporating New York's favorite foods from knishes to the classic hot dog and locally brewed beers.

Until the hotel opens its doors - you can follow its useful tweets as it dedicated its twitter account to NY tips.
