W Korea were inspired by the impressionist movement when putting together this shoot. The brush strokes, the lighting, even the model in a way hark back to the impressionist period.
The W franchise is known for beautiful shoots, and the Korea edition does not disappoint. In the February 12 edition, they went a step further.
Stylist
Jin A and photographer Choi Yong Ben unified two European cultures in a
beautiful shoot. The French impressionist flavour of the shoot is contrasted to
the Sicilian, vintage womanly feel of the Dolce&Gabbana SS12 collection. The
light, colours and brush strokes, play a very Dolce&Gabbana-esque game of
contrast with the clothes.
This shoot showcases the key items from the SS12 Dolce&Gabbana collection worn by Han Hye Jin.
The
shoot focuses on the more special pieces from the collection, illustrating the
main themes.
There’s
a jewel-encrusted cocktail dress from the fireworks portion of the collection,
as well as fashion editors’ favourite, the corset from the same theme.
Jin
A also chose the aptly contrasting light blue macramé with plastic flower
appliqué and tomato print organza dress.
On
the note of plastic the see-through orange PVC with black raffia crochet trim is
worthy of a painting in itself.
Of
course, a jewel encrusted corset form the finale could not go amiss.
European frenemies like France and Italy seem to have merged beautifully in Korea.
