Kristen McMenamy is back (Vogue Italia July 09)

The supermodel that got away has been brought back to the pages of Vogue Italia's latest edition courtesy of uber photographer Steven Meisel. A 31-page spread entitled "The Legend" showcases the 42-year-old fashion veteran.

Head & shoulders above the rest in one of Dolce & Gabbana's new fall/winter 2009 headpieces - we can see why Meisel is bringing the strong features of Kristen back.

Perhaps it's the crisis or maybe we're just bored with banality but autumn's buzzword appears to be "strong". With Kristen heralding a move away from anodyne features, fashion is also looking for something a bit stronger. Take a peek at one of the season's F/W must haves - the headpiece (the same one as Kristen is featured in above). It's certainly not for shrinking violets.
