What really happened @ the Dolce & Gabbana show?

Sorry to say but: if there’s someone who can tell you “things” you won’t get anywhere, that person is me: The New Girl. Did I say Kylie…Minogue?

After 300 hours of preparation, work, thinking, mastering my mind as to be prepared to the wagon that was going to hit me, here and after called the Dolce&Gabbana SS11 Fashion Show, I was indeed prepared at least for one thing: wearing heels while running around doing interviews. I started wearing heels on Wednesday to get used to the idea, but in the end I was definitely bionic if not as tall as the models. Yes some missions are impossible.

While I was interviewing beauties such as Alessandra Ambrosio and Natasha Poly, my mouth kept watering for the sandwiches they had prepared for “us”. Needless to say by the time I got to them they were gone. (Who said models didn’t eat?)

A phone call to my best friend during a toilette break – exactly 2 seconds – pleading for an ego boost, and I was back on track. I had to be: Domenico Dolce was saying “lets go!” to the girls, so I ran out of the bathroom in panic, no I didn’t fall. But it was a false alarm, still 40 minutes to the show.

Hugs and kisses with the models, a bit tricky especially since I was wearing a clownish red lipstick and they were ALL WEARING WHITE, who had already seen a lot of the funny me trying to look the part. Did I mention my heels were almost as big as I am, and this is not because they were that high, but for the simple fact that I am small. While the designers’ assistants were running around to fix the models’ shoes to avoid some gliding off the heels during the show. So you can just imagine my relief when I was carried, pushed, called, dragged upstairs to the VIP room to interview Kylie Minogue.

There at least I was pretty comfortable, nothing of the hectic preparation that goes on backstage. Kylie and her entourage were chilling on the sofas while waiting for the show. I was asked to be discreet until I was allowed to interview her. Wallpaper is something I try to do well so I waited patiently.

I kneeled down and there she was talking to me. Well not to ME, but to Swide. During the entire interview I kept thinking damn what a great skin. I am not sure what I asked her, I guess we will have to wait to see the video, but get this, she said: “You can get off your knees now” and touched my arm while walking as if we had been friends FOREVER.

(Meanwhile in the corner, spotted: Naomi and Bryan Boy doing an interview).

I feel almost famous.
