Let us introduce you to Ivan Olita, Swide's new columnist who is going to be presenting his finds to us every month with Solitaire. But, before he does that, let's find out a bit more about him...
I’m 23-years-old. I work in Fashion, Television, Communication, publishing. That means I don't really exactly "work", say I try do to stuff i love. I have lived in Hong Kong, Paris, New York and for a while in Tel Aviv. I studied Visual Design first, then I graduate with honours from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Milan. I also attended the Lee Strasberg Film School in Los Angeles for a while. I sometimes act. I always photograph and often present television programmes. The last one I worked on was Top of the Pops. I occasionally write for magazines and I always love to be engaged in communications projects across a broad range of medias. I enjoy the ‘contamination’ of stuff. I think it’s something that, together with ‘cross-pollination’, can lead to big ideas. Everyday I wake up and I try this practice of contaminating my ideas in order to lose myself in them. I am also fascinated by Web 2.0, Martin Parr’s photography, the works of Francesco Vezzoli, the design of Paul Ulian, the stories of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, discovery through research and watching the rain outside the window. I envy Lord Henry and love Dorian Gray. Perhaps he is like me. I don’t think I could live without being passionate about the lives of others and I love eating all kinds of green foods, above everything else, lettuce.
