Italian mood: Dolce&Gabbana’s shooting for…

The sunlight that casts down on the cliffs, the sea that gently touches the foreshore with its waves, the tranquility and peace. It could be a normal day at the seaside, but it's not...

The sunlight that casts down on the cliffs is so bright you almost forget it's October. The sea gently touches the foreshore with its shy waves, producing a sound that recalls summer, tranquility, peace, releasing a smell that can only belong to alive, salty waters. A bunch of Italian men - dark hair, earnest eyes, probably relatives - walk by and bring with them a resonant laugh.

It could be a normal day at the seaside, but it's not.

Looking closely, those men sport an elegance that comes from another time in history, straight out of those Italian movies that has made cinema italiano a legend. And yet, the clothes they wear, tailored to gently caress their pride, and the charm they carry with them with no effort is timeless. It is impossible not to notice them, hard not to fall in love.

Something is going on, but it's not clear what it is: the moment is light and yet tense, the bustling scene looking like a bunch of bees around a hive. Cameras, special lights, a busy crew gesturing and frowning: there you go, secret revealed. It's a shooting - just a shooting! - and yet the atmosphere feels so magical that you can't stop yourself from looking, wondering whether what brought you here was a time machine instead of your stubborn curiosity.

 Who's behind this?

You can spot among the crowd Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana and Mariano Vivanco, on site to direct everything, although this "everything" is not clear yet.

Will the mystery be revealed soon?

Actually, it doesn't matter (so much).

What lingers, today, is the sweet memory of yesterday: a warm day at the seaside, the beauty of a laughter worn with grace, the glamour of tradition, the joy of a family reunited. And the confidence that summer doesn't have to be over yet.
