I was reading: 'When I came to New York it was the first time I'd ever taken a plane, the first time I'd ever gotten a taxi-cab, the first time for everything. And I came here with 35 dollars in my pocket...'
Then Madonna ends her sentence with: 'That was the bravest thing I've ever done.' I got to thinking... If she made it, why couldn't I? When I was a little girl, all my classmates wanted to 'regular' people when they would grow up one day: dentist, doctor, fireman, teacher, engineer with the only exception of a guy in our class who wanted to be a... drag queen! Well, I must admit that he was a bit crazy, I mean who could think of aiming to be a dragqueen at only 5 years old? Whatever, this is not our discussion topic today... I remember Ms. Hampton say to us: 'Children, you have a wonderful future ahead, if you work hard, you can be ANYTHING! ANYTHING you want to be!'
So I decided... I wanted to be MADONNA. She had made it in a city like New York with just 35 dollars in her pocket. I wasn't that brave, neither that talented so I contacted this guy who works at Dolce&Gabbana and has this twitter account 'iwork4dg' and asked for his help. After a few phone calls, I was in the train on my way to Milan... Here are some pictures from my first Milanese morning...
Madonna
wakes up very early in the morning, I must work on that. I was too tired when I
arrived to Milan that I went to bed without even taking my heels off!
Thanks
God that the first day was quite sunny. I do not like winter.
So
as I was trying to wake up, I tried remembering my favourite Madonna quotes that
I had studied on her wikipedia profile.
"I
stand for freedom of expression, doing what you believe in, and going after your
dreams." Madonna.
"Hollywood
is about playing the game, and I can't think of any successful actresses who
didn't play the game. there's a lot more renegades in the music business, from
Patti Smith to Janis Joplin."Madonna
Oh
well, I am finally up. I wonder if I'll meet Stefano Gabbana today? I might as
well run to a Dolce&Gabbana store and cross my fingers. Hello Milan, the
doll who wanted to be Madonna has arrived! Let the fun begin.
