If you have to go to the office everyday, and that office belongs to Dolce&Gabbana, you are bound to want to create a sort of bond. Of course you start with your colleagues, but it takes an even grander scale when you work in fashion.
Team Spirit & Cheerios
So it’s summer, I am on vacation, miles away from the office, no internet, and this thought crosses my mind: that little girl is wearing a D&G bathing suit. She is about two years old, wearing leopard. For some reason, no matter what Mr. Cavalli says, I can’t help but do this equation: Dolce&Gabbana = leopard. To my friends upon taking on the new job I daringly say: I love my new job, but not sure I can do leopard. It just doesn’t go with me you know, I am more bohème, more the “I write and don’t have time to shop” (a polite way to say the means), type. But there it is in the middle of my summer: the leopard and its consequences dressed on a toddler. I love my job, maybe I should show more team spirit, maybe I too can integrate a piece of leopard in my wardrobe, yes, yes, yes, I could definitely do a scarf, (no wait that’s Vuitton), ok, underwear, definitely can do that, I think. My mind races away, and the entire beach turns leopard. Eureka. I say. Doesn’t matter what you wear, as long as you feel it. I can almost see my college cheerleaders cheering for me, and the team mascot: the Lafayette Leopard, running around the football field, all happy. Well, uhm, yes, I guess Leopards and I go way back. All wardrobe suggestions on how to wear leopard without looking like a tart are welcome.
