Another day - another high-paced, hot and stressed backstage fashion show. The only thing that keeps you going at a time like this is a smile from a famous designer so how come I never get one???
Yes, today was the D&G FW10 show. My heart in pieces the minute I stepped backstage and realised what I absolutely need/want/ HAVE TO HAVE for next winter (military jacket - military jacket and military jacket) combined with the general failure feeling that comes with standing next to models all day - made for a painful start to the day.
Under the heat of the photographers (was it just me or had they multiplied this season?) the frantic dressers and the model chat I spied Mr.G mid-interview looking very dapper indeed. Being ever so professional, after ten minutes I stopped staring in manner of crazed stalker at him (and after being told the show was actually about to start and I had to get everything I need and out in 20 mins) I went about my "fashion show routine".
Ever so slightly "frazzled" at this point - off I went in my usual professional manner, which usually means cursing, and shouting at the cameraman. When he refused to follow me and started waving his arms at me, I created my best "I'll kill you right now glare" only to meet the very eyes of Mr.G!!!!!
Bless him, he was waiting ever so calmly for me to get out of his way (I happened to be cleverly standing in front of the designers only entrance) - and at the sight of, what I imagine my screwed up face - he said hello to the cameraman and ran in the opposite direction of me.
