The office is forever in competition as to who will sport the new collection looks first. It's not what you'd call an office emergency given the state of the economy - but here in our fashion bubble we couldn't care less.

All that's on our minds is getting the new collections on our backs - and fast. There are of course a myriad of rules about wearing the new season's collections, and believe me it isn't as simple as, ahem going to the shop and buying them....
Immediately after the show (so we're talking Feb here), the exact fall/winter pieces that are popping into the shops everywhere now, were cooed over – which is of course in fashion speak, tantamount to putting your name on them. Exclaiming after the show, "I love the new tuxedo suit" actually means, "I will be buying this suit come August, and so nobody else can.
T-shirts are a little less competitive and the office rules appear to allow several colleagues to wear them during the season (in strict rotation of course). Whomever is the first to exclaim/has the more senior position has the option to buy the D&G T-shirt of the season first, which in this case is the one with opera diva, Maria Callas on the front. (Celebrities of course don't count, Pixie Lott was seen in one way back in July??!!).

So there we all were - waiting the first delivery of Callas, when in walks the (male) boss - resplendent in said Callas T-shirt and thus throwing our carefully balanced pecking order out of the water...Needless to say no-one has a clue what to do next and the boss is still confused as to why he received the cold shoulder treatment all of yesterday.
