As you may imagine - there's no shortage of vanity in this office - except however when it comes to the days following the catwalk shows.
Being backstage/outside/frontof house/ in fact everywhere associated with a catwalk show – (with the exception of the front row), is exhausting. Although we're not of course saving lives, we are saving the fashion seasons and as such we put our best heels forward and work tirelessly to bring the world the best little productions this side of Broadway.
Of course however - like any good theatre show, at the end of its run, it can all become a bit of a weepy affair. Life in Dolce & Gabbana-land post-show is no different. Gone are the heels (at least for a week), the gloss, canapés and champagne. The blow-dries have lost their lustre, and the manicures are chipped. Concealer fails to cover under eye shadows anymore and dare I say it, we’re beginning to look a little shabby.
It won't last of course - Monday morning and we'll all be looking like we just left the salon once more - but if it's the return of grunge you're looking for - you've got two days at least left to find it here in the office.
