A slight mistake in the dinner department ends in a supermodel diet
Dom peridone replaces Dom Perignon
If you’ve ever contemplated upping sticks and moving to Italy, or what life may be like inside a Milanese fashion brand, take a peek at Behind The Seams – a daily blog about life working for Mr.D & Mr.G.
Sadly haven’t been sipping my usual liquid lunch due to having been poisoned by supermarket chicken – and reminding me why I avoid supermarkets and their lighting at all costs. Usually due to the horrendous hours I work (by this I include the four aperitivo’s a week necessary for networking in this fine business) I opt for online supermarket shopping – not only can I pretend I have a housekeeper when it’s delivered but it also cuts out the face-to-face necessity of having to speak Italian.
My Italian is to quote the C.V “workable” but if you’ve ever tried to order proscuitto at a deli counter with a bunch of impatient Italian house-wives behind you – it really isn’t the time to stubble on one’s verbs. Anyway – having got slightly delayed with a project I was forced to pop in to a supermarket late last night – grabbing perhaps one of the only ready made options in Italian supermarkets – roast chicken (it was that or Macdonalds and even the cat refuses burgers after a constant diet fast food during fashion week). Anyway, no sooner had I nibbled the chicken – that I knew instinctively knew something was up. I refuse to talk about the rest, other than the next day the nice pharmacist gave me “Dom Peridone” to help the stomach situation. So now, even although I can’t drink my beloved Dom Perignon, it’s soothing to know I can at least take it in tablet form.
