Anna Wintour a.k.a the Ice Queen, fashion tyrant and boss from hell. And yet have we all in fact been barking up the wrong tree? After displaying a human side in new documentary, The September Issue, Anna is now trying to convince us that fashion, is well 'human' for this evening's Fashion's Night Out...
In a global initiative to promote retail, restore consumer confidence, and celebrate fashion, the entire Vogue international network is coordinating a series of evening extravaganzas in their respective world fashion capitals.
Anna Wintour, Vogue U.S's Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour is the brain behind the project, who according to WWD, came up with the concept after sensing a spreading doom-and-gloom sentiment in the industry. Her main goal is “to seduce them (the public) back into stores, with a sense that fashion is human.”
Hmmm. The words ‘human’ & ‘fashion’ in the same sentence? Could it be that 'human' is this season's least expected buzzword? Coupled with documentary, The September Issue (see its trailer below) – being 'normal' appears to be Anna's raison d'etre this season.
Distancing herself from the age-old ice queen stereotype, the sunglasses have come off (famously on Letterman) and Anna appears intent on letting us all that wonderful world of fashion (if only for one night) – given that ‘it’s human after all’.

Fashion’s Night Out - the global retail party thrown by Anna Wintour featuring seven hundred stores across the U.S. and in 11 other countries have lined up keep their stores open late and create a party atmosphere, resembling Paris' White Nights, special evenings when the city’s museums stay open all night.
