The Dolce&Gabbana ss12 fashion show was a real visual feast; beautiful prints, macramé, bejewelled eveningwear and a vast choice of exquisitely crafted bodysuits. The Swide team have selected the key looks from the collection just for you.
Dolce&Gabbana breathed a new life into their Italian roots. The essence of their inspiration came from the 1955 movie Scandal in Sorrento, (the original title in italian stands for Bread, Love and…), starring Sophia Loren. The silhouettes, the fabrics, even the music were a direct reference to the film, but true to form, the design duo were able to subvert the theme, and look further than just the inherent charm of the scenes.
The vegetable prints and the PVC accessories were nods to the furniture and food offered at typical village fiestas like the one in the movie. And to finish it all off, the lights and fireworks were magically reproduced on the evening dresses and corsets.
