Fashion Editor Yuri Ahn reveals her wish list from the Spring Summer 2013 Dolce&Gabbana collection.
Mare, Sole, Amore’ (Sea, Sun, Love), are the three words that characterize the Dolce&Gabbana Spring Summer 2013 collection.
The Sicilian Folk collection is very characteristic of the brand and I for one absolutely loved it. The concept is holiday, light and airy clothes made of delicate and at times simple materials with a strong hand made feel. The prints are what stand out the most, from stripes to Moors, Sicilian cart, majolica and even maps of the island.
Here is the list of what, in an ideal world, would not miss from closet come spring.
The Pupi print organza dress fashioned in the news season A-line silhouette. I love the way the printed fabric has been used, it’s almost three dimensional, like a real theatre.
Stripes! One of the strongest trends form the season. I would want a very 1960s stripe print cotton brocade suit.
A classic Dolce&Gabbana bodysuit with Moor print and Sicilian cart inspired applications. So very Sicilian!
One of the wicker corsets with organza overlay for that magical flare effect!
A pair of Sicilian cart inspired earrings with semi precious stones, very showy, very big and with lovely movement to them.
A hand-woven raffia Dolce Bag. Its inspired by typical trivets from Sicily. With these strong colours and incredible handiwork it hardly looks like a Dolce Bag.
The wicker platforms with crochet raffia.
