The 69th edition of the Venice Film Festival is almost here. The picturesque canals and stunning architecture of Venice take on a gleaming shimmer from the stars walking the red carpet during. Did you get in the mood? Here’s more for you.
When a film festival, or awards ceremony or any world-renowned reason to dress up comes to pass here at Swide we go red carpet crazy! Whether you’re attending the Venice film festival and need a hint on what to wear this season, or whether you, like us, dream of the pap flashes, the throngs of adoring fans screaming your name, here are some looks to imagine yourself wearing.
The
tuxedo for women is a timeless look on and off the red carpet. Picking up the
masculine tailoring trend from FW13, the trouser suit is a must. The heavy
double crepe double-breasted blazer with velvet lapels and buttons skims the
feminine curves. Wear a crepe de chine white shirt with ruffles to accentuate
your femininity. Finish the look of with lace Mary Janes for a pap worthy
effect.
FW13
is all about the cape. For the red carpet choose a floor skimming lace cape with
crepe de chine bow. Wear it with a matching lace dress, but choose a knee length
one to accentuate the drama of the cape. Channel the cape crusader look with
boots- peep toe high heel lace boots that is.
Leopard
print is a Dolce&Gabbana staple, and an effective look on the red carpet. A
figure hugging gathered strapless mermaid dress is gather light chiffon is ever
so dramatic. Cover up from the late summer chills with a matching knee length
cape. With this look accessories need to be simple- baroque gold pendent
earrings with black roses are perfect.
Sequins
dominate the red carpet. Choose a two-tone sequin gown. The gold bodice and
extra long black skirt will make you glisten in front of the paparazzi. Play
with texture and carry an ostrich feather clutch with handy metal chain shoulder
strap. Add a touch of romanticism with a gold baroque comb with delicate red
rose applications.
Ah
lace- what is more appropriate than a lace dress on the red carpet? Steer clear
of the classic hues with this petroleum green gown. The long sleeves with
transparent effect add a hint of old world glamour. Match it to a lace clutch,
with black jewel clasp and a maxi baroque necklace in gold and black roses.
Black
is a fail proof option for the red carpet. This corseted black number is
special. The lace gathered bodice contrasts with the heavy satin skirt to make a
glamorous effect. The tulle flower application on the waist adds a touch of
romanticism, and defines that tiny circumference. Match it to gold pendant
earrings with rose applications and a white lace box clutch with charm
embellished wristlet.
