With the first rays of sun comes the time of weekends spent outside. Gatherings with friends and long walks on schedule, grab your Vichys and print your picnic stories.
The
pattern that takes its name from the French town Vichy (known for producing
cotton fabrics) is "in" this season but very "in". Which means that you cannot
almost wear too much of it. If you thought it was reserved to the unused apron
that sits in your kitchen, you are totallly wrong Mr.! The cool colours are red
and green to mix or to wear alone. No matter your mood as long as you pick from
the Vichy basket. Not to say that it matches perfectly the sandwich menu you
have prepared for your lunch on the grass - sorry - we meant your "Déjeuner sur
l'herbe" - more chic,
indeed.
At
D&G the offered selection as been very much thought after as you have an
alternative if the “full-on- Vichy” is not really your cup of tea. Called the
Hawaiian print and stamped on shirts or jackets, it simply freshens up a look
and makes it cool in the heat. Needless to mention that you must pair it with
something simple and smart: a classic pair of chinos for example. If you have a
doubt on the shape of your trousers, they should be straight and rolled up at
the ankle. A bit preppy, very fifties, the new garden entry code is for any man
who wants to be casual but to remain ahead of the laidback
pack.
The
3 piece- ensemble composed of a knitted sweater, a shirt and a pair of shorts is
versatile enough for you to play with; the jumper can be placed on the shoulder
or on the hips, and shorts are to reveal some matching the shirt vichy
prints underlining. The trendyness of these picnic inspired outfits lies in
details, such as the bowling collars that is to be found on polos but also on
shirts. Depending on your preferences, cover up with a college alike bomber
jacket or a tailored blazer with a loose
appeal.
The
last pinch of spice to add on your fashion menu: sunglasses. Very much retro,
think warefare styles dyed in red, green or even Vichy... Yes, again. As told
previously, you just cannot get
enough.
To
punctuate your look and conclude your grocery and shopping lists, add some
raffia cotton shoes and why not a ducktail haircut.. If you
dare.
