Fashion Editor Yuri Ahn talks us through the main fabric for FW13: bouclé. Far from dowdy and mumsy, this tear bouclé and tweed are the height of fashion.
For the first look: An a line dress (very 60s) with a dropped waist effect given by the mix and matching of lace and bouclé wool, all in the hues of grey. Match it to the double-breasted jacket with modified kimono sleeves, it remains tight on the body for a dramatic silhouette. The double-breasted fastening is very military- another string trend for the season. Add some colour with a mix and match floral and leopard print scarf, a Sicily soft in tapestry print with a cute bulldog and the rose tapestry boots. Don’t forget the baroque rose earrings.
The
same concept applies to the second look:
bouclé
mixed with leopard print. Its so Dolce&Gabana and this rust brown
leopard print is the new colour for FW13. Maintain the ladylike aesthetic with a
double-breasted
grey chevron wool coat, fitted at the waist and flared towards the hem. It’s
impeccable, and so feminine. Don’t forget the importance of the coat this Fall.
The accessories cited above work well this look too. For a less colourful
option, a
black
quilted shoulder bag and elegant
python
pumps will make for a style statement which speaks louder than words.
