The khaki look has been back in fashion for a few seasons now. It has found a new habitat in the urban jungle, but the total look can sometimes seem a bit naff, so be careful. This week, this is how to rock the safari look with a typically Dolce&Gabbana twist.
Nothing
screams safari more than an oversize khaki shirt with matching shorts. The
fabric is cotton, a city alternative on the technical materials used in actual
safari kits. The shirt is worn as light jacket- so layered over a vest or
t-shirt.
For
the urban jungle that is the city, we’ve selected two options: a grey Icon tank
top imbued with the image of Freddie Mercury. While for a more romantic option-
a satin peony print camisole with lace trim.
Add
some high with these wooden clogs. The contrast between the wood and the peony
print chiffon add character and romanticism. For an even greater contrast, these
low wedges in PVC with big multicoloured twist are the opposite of camouflage.
To
stay true to the safari spirit, the bag needs to be oversize. A blush pink
weaved PVC Miss Escape adds a crafts element to the outfit. For a modern yet
congruous feel opt for a cherry hued weaved straw carry-all.
With
this sort of outfit, jewellery can make or break the statement. Something to
precious will look out of place, while something ethnic is a bit of an
exaggeration. Choose some brightly coloured PVC bijoux with some natural
material charms like brass and wood.
