The SUV automobile format is here to stay and if you ever doubted that it was more than a passing trend, Italian shipyard Canados have done the market research and decided that the Sports Utility Vehicle format is also want people want in a luxury yacht.
The new yacht merges the features of a supply vehicle with those of a luxury yacht so what you get is reliability, usability, enjoyment, versatility, attention to detail and a high degree of customisation. The SUV will be designed to facilitate the perfect vacation space on the water. This is not a yacht for the super-pampered, but rather a sports utility vehicle for the doers out there who want to incorporate their activities into their vacation time.
That means the superstructure is moved to the fore, with large windows to let in plenty of light and an interior customised to individual specifications. This is all to allow wide open spaces on deck for the likes of jet-skis, sea bobs, windsurfs, sailing boats, either on the main deck or in the lower-deck garage.
The first SUVs will be delivered in early 2014 and will be available in two models at first: the SUV 90, with a raised pilot house, CE registration below 24 metres and two CAT engine of 1,925 bhp each, and the SUV 135 with double deck and three different engine version, rom the double CAT 1,925 bhp each to the massive 2 MTU engines version of 4,243 bhp each, offering a hybrid solution.
