Milan's 2009 design week may almost be upon us but here at Swide we can't wait until April 21st to see what's new. Click here for a sneak preview of the best, brightest and strangest pieces coming soon to Milan.

Here at Swide we've trawled the design blogs, stalked the design twitters and text our friends to find out who's showing what at the forthcoming Salone Del Mobile (22-27 April 2009).

Martin The Mule is a new workstation concept from from French design studio i-bride.

A unique desk containing shelves and drawers with wires for lighting and internet. This design, showcased at Maison & Objet will be heading to Milan for this year's edition of Salone del Mobile 2009.

Mini will launch it's airspace trailer the brand new MINI Cooper S Clubman.

  A taste of California will hit Europe for the first time showcasing Mini's new trailer complete with über-chic custom-made interior by Copenhagen's Republic of Fritz Hansen, at the Interni Design Energies exhibition in Milan.

Alice Wang's latest project to debut at the Salone del Mobile is her "dysfunctional chair" series.

The Equality Seeker Chair: As research has shown that taller people are more likely to be successful in life, these chairs give the shorter people in life literally a leg-up. Each chair can be customized so that everyone sits at the world average sitting height (who knew such a thinh existed??) of 140cm.

The "Silent Farter Chair" (we kid you not) is for those of you who find it difficult to hold it in sometimes, even at important times. This chair works on the concpt that although letting out the gas out may be the solution, the scent remains. This chair lets others know who the gas has originated from, thus sparing the embarrassment of others as well as extinguishing its smell.

Bisazza will be launching its Digital Memories collection of three cabinets designed by Tord Boontje.

Volume Gamma featured above is one of the storage units inspired by the shapes and colours of nature.

Italian designer Marc Sadler will launch his new collection of "Robot Chairs".

The Medusa "Jellyfish" Chairs from Gam Fratesi

Inspired by the shape of a jellyfish, these tables are entirely made of metal, with legs shaped to look like tentacles finished by a smooth steel top.
