According to the U.K's Guardian newspaper, it's "farewell to the rugged look as new male beauties sweep all before them". We know Madonna never misses a trick, but we had no idea her zeitgeist powers were still this hot.

According to The Guardian's article - a new man is emerging and he's not it would seem coming home from a football match/the gym or certainly not the pub.

"...a fresh image of the perfect man is emerging. His androgynous charm endears him to women, who think it signals fidelity and warmth."

According to The New York Observer who have termed the phenomenon the "new male beauty" a formula can describe the precise science of the feminine and "identikit" look.

"Those wide-set eyes, the narrow nose that flares up at the tip just so, the childish puffy cheeks and the not-too-rugged jaw lines, topped with carefully placed strands of layered hair," wrote Irina Aleksander. "Compared to the new male beauty, even Justin Timberlake and Adrian Grenier seem distinctive and grizzled. It's a face that used to only be found in teen magazines, to be tacked on to the petal-pink bedroom walls of adolescent girls. Now it dominates the box office."

And of course, anything the box office can do - so can the catwalk as new (and pretty) models such as Jesus Luz walked the SS10 menswear shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Givenchy.

The problem with being pretty however according to The Guardian's article is that you're interchangeable (although we'd like to add we've yet to see a gaggle of pretty boys outside our window).

"Casting agents, directors and psychologists, say today's up-and-coming male stars are so similar that industry bosses are able to replace one with another with barely a pause for thought" adds the piece, citing the recent replacement of Chace Crawford for Zac Efron in the forthcoming remale of Footlose as an example  www.swide.com/The-Footloose-dance-off).
