Céu puts Brazil on the world's playlist
Following in the footsteps of Bebel Gilberto comes the girl from Sao Paolo - Maria do Céu Whitaker Poças, the singer-songwriter known simply as CéU.

After a rush of new female cutting edge startlets such as Lady Gaga, La Roux, Katy Perry and Uffie - we're feeling a little 'cooled out'. If you can't face nother round of Poker Face this party season, and are searching for perhaps a more laid-back playlist, look no further than what has been termed the, 'Brazilian album of the year' by the U.K's Guardian newspaper, Vagarosa.

This is the third release in a row from CéU from who debuted a self-titled album in 2007 and launched her on the Brazilian music scene. She's back with “Vagarosa,” a collection of 13 tracks that will ensure she makes a mark not only the Brazilian pop world but internationally too. Mixing samba cool with reggae, edgy trumpets and quirky sonic beats its laidback lounge music that conjures up images of poolside dreaming.

Brazilian music is reported to be experiencing a resurgence in popularity in the U.S. and it's Céu that is credited with being at the forefront of this burgeoning movement.
