A world where humans no longer exist
There are some well know scenarios when one tends to be ignored:
1.Trying to engage a front-row fashion editor before/after/during a catwalk show
2. The morning after a drunken fumble
3. Asking your boss for holiday
4. Applying now for a job as an investment banker
After perusing Michael Crouser's new photo book, "The Dog Run" we were reminded of a fifth scenario.
If you've ever taken a dog for a walk, witnessed it yapping appreciately at one's ankles - you will have seen the change of attitude once it's finally let off the leash and meets other fellow yappers. The owner is forgotten - completely. Not so much as a backward glance or whimper of thanks.
This unique book examines this very scenario, set in the recent new phenomenon of "dog only parks" or dog runs. Michael Crouser's beautiful images capture a series of dogs interacting with each other in a collection of funny, haunting, and at times haunting shots - drawing the reader into a world where humans no longer exist, a parallel universe where bags are named after pets such as Miss Cat & Miss Dog.
