The entire D&G FW09 collection is inspired by Dorian Gray, one of Oscar Wilde's most famous characters and novel of the same name. The novel is set to premiere on the big screen in September when it gets a Hollywood makeover courtesy of British director, Oliver Parker (Crash).
Another print within the D&G FW09 collection is Leonidas at Thermopylae which took the painter Jacques-Louis David almost fifteen years to produce.
The painting depicts a tale of heroism drawn from Greek history: the sacrifice of Leonidas and three hundred Spartans who were massacred resisting the Persian armies as they invaded Greece, in the rocky gorges of Thermopylae (meaning "hot springs").
