Introducing the D&G boy’s girlfriend, albeit a little more glamourous, a little more romantic… Well, a special brand of romantic with Catherine Deneuve’s character in Bunuel’s Belle de Jour as main inspiration.

Keeping warm is all in the knitwear and so the collection presented us with a great variety of knits, though always in true Fair Isle fashion.

Heavy knits are used for darling little strapless dresses, oversized jumpers (also worn as dresses), shorts, skirts and tops; it is all about contrasts.
More lightweight knits still feature the Norwegian-style print but with a tighter silhouette courtesy of the jumpsuit.

A mix of furs, and of distressed leather for the all-essential outerwear without the usual yawn.

Why should Nordic motifs always be about woolly fabrics? Next winter they will also be making a guest appearance on chiffon dresses and blouses, and even on denim! The look is all about mixing and matching prints: Fair Isle meets floral, and a velvet jacket and furry snow boots add a touch of chic and warmth.

Heading out on the… slopes? Turn up the glamour with a long, transparent chiffon gown, but keep your furry boots on!

Our Belles de Snow have more than a vague air of Catherine Deneuve: the pussy bow blouse is one of these classic 60s garment, though one should wear it with very little innocence, maybe by tucking it in a knitted miniskirt or hotpants. For those of us not feeling so bold then the sweet velvet a-line dresses complete with lace collar are a safe alternative.

All is not so quiet on the accessories front. A new entry in the world of D&G bags, the Lily Twist. Picture your mother’s bag (60s style) without the smell of second-hand leather and dated trends. In your hand or on your shoulder, in fur, in leather or wool, but always with the lucky charms to avoid any style accident.
Even old friends are getting a makeover: the Jerry bag now features a very practical little handle and with the ubiquitous charms; the Michol is still its sweet little clutch self but with a modern twist.
The many charms keep it fun at all times, bags and clothes alike: stars, keys and darling little puppets. Fun and colourful.
Should you want to add a slightly more glamourous touch then rhinestone encrusted goggles and helmets seem a fairly safe bet.
While the boys were serious about the skiing and snowboarding and went all out in technical fabrics and shapes, the girls are a little less practical about their footwear and their ski boots come with a heel and some rather more glamourous fabrics: all you need is fur! Or maybe Jacquard wool for anyone who might worry about ethics – and digs the legwarmers look. Not so much Belle de Jour but where’s the fun in being coherent!
