A Garden Party by D&G

Posted Sep 24, 2010

To the beat of a “Wonderful Life” by Hurts. What does it take to make life truly wonderful?

Most artists and authors find their inspiration when they are in touch with nature. Inspiration turns into aspiration when it comes to Fashion: nature can be perfected too. An English garden is the epitome of it. When we turn our lives into a garden party, the world spreads in full-bloom: flowers and prints take over our colourful minds and transform a collection, the D&G SS11 Women’s collection, into a joyful fresco captured in communion with the beauty we find within, in our surroundings, and on our clothes. Ready to become an English Rose? Take a look at the Must-Haves. You definitely must wear them and divide your day between your garden appointments, be it tea, gardening, or a party, and mix your prints and fabrics.

First appointment of the day, ready to work and perfect your garden: mini or down the knee apron dresses and culottes. Mix and match of flowers, don’t forget your wedgy rubber boots.

Roses, hydrangeas, freesias, violets, mimosas: symbols of the collection. Surrounded by flowers you might as well become one.

Natural fabrics mixed with innovative ones: raffia, wicker, jute and polish. Add a bit of edge by creating new matches.

Vichy prints and flowers announce the beginning of the afternoon made of playful games and sitting in the garden.

In good English style, one must change and style up for the later dates of the evening. Lace mixed with flowers becomes the predominant elegant tone.

All over prints: from head to toe become your own garden party. The rule is to match and become instantly the flower of the cocktail.

The world of wedges. Flowers on your ankles. Whilst walking on the grass the flowers bloom on your ankles high above the wedges. Mix and match with raffia and polish, everything is hand weaved.
Bigger flowers dominate the bags and match with the other accessories gaming with the difference in materials. New must-haves to carry on your shoulder: Tagya , Supermarket. Lily Twist and Ania decorate themselves as well and bring on the flowers.
