In the army of young girls in bloom

Posted Dec 28, 2009

White Christmases are fun for a while but all this snow has triggered some major spring envy and we find ourselves dreaming of light, delicate, colourful clothes. Swide's stylist has got just the right thing in store with a selection from Dolce & Gabbana's S/S 2010!

Trust Dolce & Gabbana to put a twist on pretty spring florals. Though rest assured that the young girls in bloom of their Spring/Summer 2010 collectionare nothing like shy wallflowers!

It's all about prints, bold prints, and mixing and matching is the best way to ensure your look doesn't scream of lost Proustian times. Mixing florals, adding in a touch of animal... The right palette keeps it all on the right side of colourful (the point is to channel the Sicilian bombshell rather than the circus freak), with an array of reds and blacks (fatal!) and the right touches of softening pastels.

Keeping florals on the right side of young and playful is as easy as showing miles of leg; see-through booties are just the perfect ally. Don't forget a little roar courtesy of the right accessories.

Satins, chiffons and silks for a play on volumes and shapes.

Be ultra feminine, but be all sorts of feminine with these different silhouettes: playful in ruffles, classic femme fatale in a pencil shape, daring in a mini tulip skirt.

The ankle boot becomes the perfect summer shoe with the clever use of netting. Just the right amount of tough to give floaty florals some edge.

A woman for all seasons: innocent florals for spring, dangerous animalier for summer with added vertiginous front split!

They say being chic is all in the details: do not let the bold colours distract you from the beautifully draped bodices and skirts.

Mixing is for prints and fabrics: chiffon gains in oomph with silks and satins.

A whole new kind of armu: beautiful young girls in corsets marching down the catwalk.
