A life less ordinary is heading your way for spring

Short of sounding like a horoscope - sometimes it's the things around you that can be inspiring. Take D&G's 2011 collection for example, skirts inspired by lampshades, your boyfriend's jeans and Minnie Mouse?

The designers Dolce & Gabbana found inspiration in cowgirls - (with a twist) for their spring 2011 D&G collection. Mixing a hint of British nonchalence, this is one ranch hand, who's left the farm and nw has a downtown loft.

Short skirts, with a hint of Brigitte Bardot are paired with soft washed denim and t-shirts for an effortlessly cool look.

Skirts paired with denim offer an urban take on the country.

City staples such as denim jeans get a 2011 D&G makeover when paired with new leather accessories and worn with the season's new Minnie Mouse t-shirts.

Tailored pieces get a dressing down when mixed with denim and cotton shirts - and that 1980's throwback, the bumbag.

Sexy doesn't have to mean heels and a dress. Mini skirts, shorts and tight denim offer a city alternative for a sexy look.

Layer cotton trenches, printed tees and leather belts for an urban country look that a farmer is unlikely to recognise anytime soon.

The denim shirt gets a luxe upgrade in soft washed leather.
