The Dolce&Gabbana SS12 collection was inspired by everything Italian: vegetable prints, pasta jewellery, village decorative lights and of course Sicilian traditions. Black, is a colour that immediately springs to mind when imagining the typical Sicilian woman’s garbs.
The SS12 Dolce&Gabbana collection was inspired by the inherent beauty and femininity represented by the women in iconic Italian movies from the 50s. These qualities are reflected in many elements of the Spring Summer collection, from the make up to the eyewear.
The Dolce&Gabbana Spring Summer 2012 collection was inspired by the 50s ideal of Italian beauty, looking back in particular to the iconic Sophia Loren and her unabashed sensuality in the Mambo scene from the 1955 film Pane Amore e… The cinched waists, body contouring bodices and flowing skirts are reminiscent of those timeless lines from the 1950s. Look and feel like a 50s diva in Dolce&Gabbana this summer.
