Part of the Dolce & Gabbana SS09 menswear collection packed its suitcase and headed South to Miami - where it took a journey alongside Al Pacino.

The Dolce & Gabbana menswear collection always looks to iconic rebels to add a tough edge to their collections. For the SS09 season, Al Pacino's role as an icon of money, power and extravagance in the iconic film Scarface was a key inspiration behind the collection's standout tailoring with a rebellious element.

The backdrop to the collection is Miami with a seventies twist that inspired the foundations of the collection's colour palette that includes its white stand-out suits and jackets, styled with nonchalent faded shirting colours. It's a collection for members of the suave, international, good-looking crowd - (we're obviously members..) men such as the exiled British spy that Pierce Brosnan plays in the film, The Tailor of Panama below.

Stars, as old as the universe, but always on trend

The Dolce&Gabbana FW11 collection was based on the contrast between masculine and feminine. Role-playing, fabric swapping and silhouette challenging designs dominated the catwalk. To concretise the distinction between the masculine and the feminine, the duo decided to hang their perceptions on a print, an icon, a symbol as old as the world itself- the star.
