A lesson in Dolce & Gabbana DNA

Posted Mar 22, 2010

The acclaimed Fall 2010 collection that put seamstresses on the front stage and Dolce & Gabbana's staples on the catwalk; strutting into the future by reinterpreting one's past is what Dolce & Gabbana's lesson in DNA is all about.

TAILORING - IMPECCABLE FIT - VOLUME – PROPORTIONS

The black jacket takes centerstage: long, short, with sensual bodysuits or light chiffon.

Occasionally the jacket goes grey, and knits are worn together with the lace and lingerie that are in Dolce & Gabbana's DNA.

SENSUALITY SHAPES - TRANSPARENCY - SOFTNESS - SEDUCTION

Underwear as outerwear, classic Dolce & Gabbana.

There is more to Dolce & Gabbana's DNA: take leopard print for instance. In all matter of sizes it gets modern with the clever addition of a few polka dots and some tweed.

BEING SICILIAN - HERITAGE - THE FASCINATION OF THE PAST - DNA

Black is for lace dresses and macrame - wear with vivid red, blush pink or yellow for a little contrast. Add classic black pumps and not-so-classic men's black socks to complete the look.

Florals that read like Sicilian tapestry, recalling the coour of flowers, oranges and lemons.

Tipically Sicilian mix of sacred and profane - all the iconic symbols came out on the catwalk, Virgin Maries, saints and lucky charms, whether sown onto the garments or adorning the accessories.
