The Dolce&Gabbana FW11 collection was based on the contrast between masculine and feminine. Role-playing, fabric swapping and silhouette challenging designs dominated the catwalk. To concretise the distinction between the masculine and the feminine, the duo decided to hang their perceptions on a print, an icon, a symbol as old as the world itself- the star.
The notion that classic is boring and urban is kooky is not always accurate. The Dolce&Gabbana FW11 collection, actually, turns this mantra on its head.
Playing between masculine and feminine is an age-old game. For FW11, Dolce&Gabbana exemplifies the duality and adds a touch of irony, frivolity and novel approach to a centuries old phenomenon.
The American preppy look has been done over and over again. For F/W11, D&G have interpreted this fashion favourite in their signature, irreverent, fun and always relevant style.
