Twirl, bump and grind
Once upon a time if you were rich, cultured and perhaps even famous - parties were all about the finest in entertainment. The opportunity to ensure your friends were set aback by your levels of feasting, cabaret and music. Sadly these days parties are measured more (by their existence in todays climate) and on their caterer and the level of canapes. How dull indeed. Hurrah then for Madame JoJos and a New Year with a line-up.
A list of acts is below:
Direct from Paris France - Miss Anne Thropy
French burlesque and belly dancer Miss Anne Thropy is also a model in the classic pin-up style. Her amazing performance brings to life the 19th-century Parisian 'art' photograph in all its wasp-waisted, corseted perfection!
Marianne Cheesecake
Marianne’s exotic beauty, her talent and artistry makes her one of the most captivating performers in contemporary burlesque. Her vintage aesthetic portrays silent films and classic Hollywood stars, distinguished by an intelligent, graceful presentation of the beautiful and bizarre.
Scarletine Delight
Cheeky Delight, Devious Delight and Pure Delight are three very saucy ladies performing their domestic duties from baking cakes and darning socks to cleaning house. Prepare to be tickled, teased, charmed and cleaned - the mixture of kitsch, familiar tunes and hilarious props will leave you gasping for more.
Slinky Sparkles
British Bombshell Sparkles is a versatile performance artist specialising in tassle twirling, traditional striptease and fan dancing. Neo-burlesque meets retro tunes in a unique, satirical style.
Amelie Soleil
One half of circus and burlesque duo Frayed Knot, Amelie enchants her audience with trapeze, acrobatics, fire and juggling. From traditional acts to modern fire dancing, Amelie has wowed audiences across Europe, most recently with House of The Golden Lotus and Cabaret Excentrique.
Dolly Blowup
Gorgeous Brit Dolly has recently been filmed for an MTV ad and a TV documentary exploring the lives of burlesque performers, and appeared at the London Burlesque Festival, where she performed her brand new 1940's style Bomb Disposal Show.
Kiki Kaboom
Cheeky, charming striptease starlet Kiki has an irreverent, wicked sense of humour. Her characters Chavarella and Asbo Girl are fast becoming burlesque legends!
Ruby Rose
Balloon Dancer extraordinaire Ruby Rose specialises in creating vintage looks. She showcased at this year's 25th Anniversary Brecon Jazz Festival.
Darkteaser
Classically trained dancer and choreographer Darkteaser is the ultimate burlesque fan dancer! She makes her own exquisite fans and costumes, and you may see any act from her repertoire from the en pointe Absinthe Fairy to the Hula Girl Coconut Fan Dance, The Bird of Paradise or the Powder Puff Nymph!
Special Guest:
Desmond O'Connor
The masterful, post-modern, ukelele-playing Des, with the sweet geekiness of Harry Potter and the shocking innuendo of George Formby, performs his raunchy, poignant songs with cool, dark wit.
Hostess:
Myra Dubois
Ageing actress, socialite and all-round showgirl Myra DuBois continues her UK Return Tour. Emerging from recent obscurity (a caravan in Rotherham, actually) she is your hostess for the evening with a bottle of gin and heavy medication to get her through.
Club Night Line Up- All night club from 11pm till 5am.
Playing: 40's, 50s, 60s, Northern, Deep Funk, and Rock n Roll.
