Described by Forbes magazine as being "breezy with A-list celebrities" - the Viceroy Santa Monica is the perfect place to get your Oscars fix. Despite the fact that on this particular evening the entire Hollywood pack will be sitting with frozen smiles at the Kodak Theatre - the Viceroy's Academy Awards evening is nevertheless a cute alternative.
Aside from the creative Oscar themed names for cocktails and canapés (there's also the Slumdog Millionaire Fried Samosas) - the evening includes bottles of Veuve Clicquot to celebrate the winners, your own little red carpet moment in the form of an "arrival" Polaroid shot of you and your guests, and the opportunity to get your hands on the entire DVD set of all the Best Picture nominees. In fact now we think about - poolside viewing and champagne could be a much better option than five hours in a movie theatre??
