Tango in the suburbs
Paris and handsome Argentinians - it's a no-brainer.
Paris goes tango mad this autumn with Tango in the Suburbs - a programme that brings real passion to a city that, we agree gets us in the mood for romance but to date has lacked the sultry allure of a dip and dive in the arms of an intense South American.
From the 20th of October to November 20th, Tango in the Suburbs plays homage to tango icon, Carlos Gardeltango, who in 1928, and exactly eighty years ago to date, presented the dance to the Paris public and the international scene.
To celebrate venues across the city will welcome the biggest names on the Latino dance scene as some 250 artists from 20 countries take to the stage and the streets.
Workshops and dances will be organised throughout the capital, welcoming everyone from rank amateurs to seasoned dance students, whilst legendary musicians from Argentina and Venezuela provide encouragement and ensure our hips are swaying.
