Dolce & Gabbana's Mexican holidays

Posted Apr 20, 2010

Holidays, 2 options: to stay with family or to get some sun where it is 100% guaranteed. Let’s follow the designers on their "voyage" to Mexico.

Dolce & Gabbana picked Mexico for their last holidays and shared with Swide what they enjoyed the most and will remember. From their daily tweets we have cool pictures that illustrate their answers. It was a cultural and relaxing trip. Mexico for a future holiday destination? At Swide… Count us in!

What will you remember the most from your holiday in Mexico?

Dolce & Gabbana: Many things, we had an amazing time. It is a beautiful country with a strong heritage. If you ever go to Mexico, Maya archaeological sites and excursions in the hinterland are definitely not to be missed. I you are longing for powder-soft sand and turquoise waters, Mexico provides you with the perfect beaches.

Where did you stay?

Dolce & Gabbana:Playa del Carmen.

What was you holiday dress code?

Dolce & Gabbana:Bermuda or jeans with a casual top.

Your holiday daily routine?

Dolce & Gabbana:Our day would usually go by as follows:
We would wake up around 8am, go for a jogging barefoot on the beach, read and have lunch. For dinner we would opt for a traditional taqueria where only locals would go.
During excursion days, we would not really have other plans than sightseeing and enjoy a long sleep after having been out the whole day.

Did you get inspired for a next collection during this trip?

Dolce & Gabbana: You cannot really control inspirations; they are usually linked to feelings and memories so maybe we will reveal a collection in the future that will refer to what we have experienced during this week in Mexico.

Any cocktail recommendations?

Dolce & Gabbana: No new or unknown cocktail to recommend but cocoa butter is just too tempting.
