Public Design Festival 3rd Edition – April 2011
This
festival is concomitant to the International Art Fair and is meant to celebrate
public design in the city of Milan. Another reason to visit the Italian capital
of design and fashion but not only. The 2011 edition is the third one and should
confirm the success of the concept. The transformation will start from
Cavalcavia Bussa, Garibaldi area: a car park transformed into a public
laboratory where visitors are invited to create new urban furniture. The idea is
simple, design belongs to everybody and can be a way of expression for anyone
who wants to materialise a
concept.
Public Design Festival is the initiative of a Milan based group,
Esterni
that focuses on urban cultural projects.
Forget the chaos of the city; look at it as a source of inspirations and
possibilities. Everything and anything is transformable and can be turned into a
cool new object and be used by the locals. To be aware of our environment and to
take part in the way it is used should be our claim.
We
can create a functional and beautiful city to live in and this festival is a
reminder that we are the actors and the users. During this design celebration
week, Milan is a place to exchange ideas, to get creative for anyone who lives
or is visiting Milan. The only thing you need is an open mind, the rest will
follow.
Meet you there to invent a new way of experiencing the city.
