Time to Ride Your Alligator

Posted Nov 17, 2010

Citroen recently showcased its new electric concept car in collaboration with the French design label Lacoste at the Paris Car Fair on October. Will it be the star of the animal kingdom?

Of course all the designers want to come out and play when there is a new concept in town. Good guess! Electric cars are exactly what we are talking about. After Renault’s Twizy frenzy with a lot of different design options, fashion in the car industry goes a step further (hasn’t it already done so with all the Mini Cooper series? Well, we tend to renew our memories every six months in fashion and start over.).

Two french names, Citroen and Lacoste, shake hands for a cool collaboration: an electric car dressed by Lacoste. No, they didn’t put an alligator symbol here and there and painted the car just plain green; instead Lacoste created a simple yet very elegant look for Citroen’s Mehari.

It’s very interesting to see an old classic like Mehari get resurrected from the dead with a nice dress and an electric heart. With all the innovation it offers, there’s no wonder that it has the possibility of becoming the it-car of the next years. A little bit of patience for the sake of ecology and you’ll be taking your alligator –sorry, car- out for a ride in the city.
