Zaha Hadid develops the new weekend scene
A villa in Russia is glamour personified. A weekend retreat in Tuscany seems so last season and yet somehow we are a little reluctant to jump on the latest bandwagon and leave behind our private pool and architectural designed pad. Browsing the web however we noticed Dezeen magazine had highlighted what could be the perfect new weekend bolthole.
The Capital Hill Residence from architect Zaha Hadid brings a guaranteed luxury to the slopes of Barvikha, Russia, a small town to the west of Moscow, dotted with pine and birch trees (the new landscape, expect expensive watercolors any day now). The space comes complete with its own pool and Turkish baths, facilities we regrettably never had in Tuscany. The project, has a completion date of 2010, and is currently being exhibited at the Russia Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale until November 23rd.
The villa showcases a breathtaking Hadid design that ensures a must-have bella vista of the surrounding forest. The space has a ground floor dedicated to me, me, me time - a luxe leisure space consisting of Turkish baths, massage area, sauna, and a fitness area. The ground floor will comprise of a living room, dining, kitchen, entertainment, indoor swimming room and parking spaces all connect by translucent glass lifts and staircases. Yes, transparent lifts. Chic personified and will also ensure you are aware if your guests actually do reach their designated rooms…alone.
The drawback? Non-stop house guests.
Advantage? You may be the only of your friends to look forward to the cold.
