The robot guitar

Posted Dec 2, 2008

Coming soon...thirteen days and counting, is the Gibson "Dark Fire" - a new electric guitar set to launch for Christmas 08. Combining chameleon tone and second generation robot guitar technology we're hoping it will turn us into Keith Richards...

The most guitar advanced system ever developed is coming...

A rare, how shall we put this politely - "model" that comes complete with beauty and brains, the Dark Fire can produce every guitar sound imaginable. Although its technical details are below - we're wondering if it would be sacrilege simply to hang it on our walls?

Analog or digital, the Gibson Dark Fire gives you an infinite number of tonal possibilities to let you change the tone of the Dark Fire to match your environment - it gives its player the ability to adjust and blend the acoustic sound from the piezo bridge pickup with the sound from the guitar's traditional pickups, as well as featuring a revolutionary Gibson-designed piezo bridge pickup that consists of six individual piezo pickups — one for each saddle/string. These piezo pickups go through a studio-quality active amplifier that allows for a stronger and more natural acoustic guitar sound.

Part of the Dark Fire package - is a superfast and comfortable asymmetrical neck design that is rendered to optimum playability with a PerfectSetup™ by the revolutionary, computer-controlled PLEK system, which has been acknowledged as the most precise guitar set-up technology in the world today.
