The crisis game

Posted Dec 3, 2008

Icelanders have decided to turn recession into make-believe, well at least for an hour or two after Christmas lunch. Using what's left of their savings - "The Crisis Board Game" from Icelandic company Gogogic is getting Iceland spending again.

Such is the demand for "Kreppuspilid ", or The Crisis Game, Icelandic games company Gogogic have set up a dedicated site to deal with the demand for their new and ironic board game - www.kreppuspilid.is.

According to the U.K's FT newspaper, the game, "was developed, appropriately enough, by an Icelander who had himself been sacked as a result of the downturn and, 'instead of sitting around, doing nothing', suggested the idea to Gogogic CEO, Mr Antonsson."

Despite their economy in ruins, it would seem at least Icelanders know where to spend their last 2.990 ISK.
