The composition chair

Posted May 4, 2009

This hefty 50kg “Composition” chair is a marvel of metal handicrafts. No bolts or welding techniques were used as this chair was formed merely by bending aluminium wires. We try it for size.

Japanese designer Kouichi Okamoto’s only tools were a jig and a pair of pliers. We're wondering if we should ask him around for tea to make one just for us too.

Other playful products include from Okamoto’s Kyouei design group include a lantern in the shape of a light bulb.
